Have you ever turned over a toy and looked at where it was made? Chances are it says, “Made in China.” Every year China exports millions of toys to America and the world. Sadly the children and adults in China that make the toys rarely ever have their own. Our missionaries shared with us how rare it is for children especially in rural China to have even 1 toy to play with.
Northern Missouri BGMC is partnering with Northern Asia’s Compassionate Touch extending the love of Christ to China’s children. We want to give toys away to children in three entire villages. To do this we need to raise $6000.00.
So here’s a
Christmas Outreach Idea instead of giving to things like Angel Tree which is a great program but already has lots of help give to the children of China for Christmas. All giving will go toward your church’s BGMC for the year.Here's How to do it:
(Your church was mailed a DVD and some supplies.)
1. Show
the BGMC Compassionate Touch DVD on Sunday Morning once in October &
November.
2.
Set up a Christmas Tree in
your church’s lobby.
3.
Decorate it using pictures provided in your packet. (You might need to
add some black cardboard behind the pictures.)
4. Hang
Buddy Barrels on the Tree.
5. Set
up a sign that explains that your doing a Christmas Toy Drive to
children in China.
6.
Then I would set the Buddy Bucket up under the tree.
7. Let
people know it’s just $5 to provide a toy to a child.
8. IMPORTANT: When you send the money sure you use the BGMC Special Project form provided and designate Compassion Toys or it will just go to general BGMC. If you lost your form you can email Dave dpaff@nomoag.org for another or just print a letter to go with your money to Springfield that says you want this BGMC money to go to Compassion Toys (001-01-007-4002-000-0200501)
