Appointed General Missionaries
John & Dawn Elliott, Missionaries to Zambia The Elliott family first went to Zimbabwe, Africa, in 1988. Since 1998, John and Dawn have been ministering in Zambia, Africa. Their primary focus has been on training pastors and other church leaders. In addition to teaching in the three residential Bible schools, John has worked to establish a non-residential program to more effectively meet the huge demand for trained leaders. He serves as the Global University Director for Zambia and as chairman for the board of Christian Leaders Training Institute. While Dawn has assisted in teaching various courses, she is now looking forward to improving literacy levels among the women in the Lusaka area churches, many of whom have been unable to read the Bible for themselves. They are currently on itineration, planning to return to Zambia in July, 2009, for a four year term. AGWM account #2243913. 1. Paul & Kristi Robinson, Missionaries to Colombia Philosophy: The main thrust of our ministry here in Colombia is to the Law Enforcement/Military Law Enforcement Community and their families. Our belief is that this Community in Colombia is a powerful and influential sub-culture, and by its nature, has very specific needs. Colombia's current President and Government have made great strides in cleaning up the corruption within these ranks; however, there is one need that the Government cannot provide - and this is the Spiritual need. Methodology: It is our belief, conviction, and purpose to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this Community by providing specific police-related training. Effective and practical evangelism will take place through the use of Christian police officers brought from the States to conduct the police-related training sessions. The physical and spiritual atmosphere will provide the opportunity for daily personal evangelism - and those receiving Christ into their lives, or who request more information, will receive follow up through local Assemblies of God pastors. Appointed: November 2004. Next itineration is: June 2009 1. Kevin will be establishing an executive coaching practice in New Delhi, as a ministry outreach to business executives. He will also be helping develop a leadership development program for A/G pastors throughout India. Lucy and Grace will focus heavily on Project Rescue, a ministry to women who have been victims of human trafficking and the sex trade. Candidate Special Missionaries
Jerome & Heather Sack Missionaries to the Philippines The Sack family will partner with the national church in the Philippines (a nation in which over 50% of the population is under the age of 20) to train and equip youth pastors, youth workers and local youth ministries. The Assemblies of God in the Philippines is experiencing explosive growth, growing from 1100 churches in 1990 to nearly 4000 churches today, with new churches being planted at the rate of 400 per year. Due to this phenomenal growth and the projected growth in the future, there is an increasing need for trained youth pastors and youth workers. Without trained workers to reach the thousands of young people coming to Christ today, they will not be properly discipled and we will miss the clear mandate of Christ. They plan on returning for their next itineration in 2012. AGWM Account # 2672079. 1. Specialized Service Missionaries
Roberto & Carla Marroquin Carla began ministry in Latin America in 1981 as a single Bible School teacher. In 1987 the couple began working under missionaries in Mexico as MAPS workers until their Special Assignment in 1991. At that time they were assisting the church in Cuba. For fifteen years they focused on that island nation while preaching revivals in the US and several Latin American countries. In 2005 Roberto designed a plan for assisting church planters in Nicaragua while enabling them to purchase their own church building. Today they urgently need small teams (5-7) who can invest seven days, travel to Nicaragua and fabricate two church buildings. Each structure costs $4,500 and is completely paid for by the national church within four years, enabling that church to essentially mother another pioneer work. The Marroquins are available for meetings in the US as their foreign travel permits.
